All About Oakley!!

1- Where were you when you first found out you were pregnant? Where everyone is, in the bathroom. Then we went to the hospital for a definite answer.
2- Who was with you? Griff was waiting right out side.
3- How did you find out that you were pregnant? Pregnancy test. I bought 2 and both had the same answer.
4- What was your first reaction to finding out you were pregnant? Well, it wasn’t planned so I was first shocked and a little sad. It was at a bad time because of my schooling but there was some excitement too.
5- Who was the first person you told? Griff’s mom, Sherry
7-Did you plan to get pregnant? Nope, we were going to start trying like 3 months later.
8-Was everybody happy for you? I think so.
9- Did you go out and celebrate? Not that I remember. Maybe Don Pedros.
10- Did you want to find out the sex? For sure
11- What was the sex? A Girl!! We both kind of wanted a boy first, but we were very excited.
12-Did anyone throw you a baby shower? Yes
13- If yes, who? My Mom, Sherry, Jenny, Yevette, Bonnie, Megan and Kellie.
14- Did you get any outfits at the baby shower that you just knew you weren't going to put on your baby? There was this one shirt that looked like a wet cow!! But other than that, everyone had good taste.
15- How much weight did you gain? 35 pounds
16- Did you lose all of the weight that you gained? It has been 10 days and I am down 23 pounds!! I don’t know how I lost it but it is gone but my hips are still not letting me get into some pants.
17- Did you get a lot of stretch marks? Not a one!!
18- What did you crave the most? I didn’t really crave anything. I ate a lot of Oreos and milk and I put jalapenos on everything.
19- Did you crave anything crazy? Nope
20- Who or what got on your nerves the most? When people would say, “Just you wait, this will happen, that will happen, just you wait” I hated that more than anything. I would take Griff’s hand and squeeze really tight to stop from slapping them.
21- Were you married at the time? Yes
22- Did you have any complications during your pregnancy? I started bleeding in the second trimester and had a lot of blood work done and found out I have a gene mutation (MTHFR) then about a month before I was due, we were told the baby had decreased three weeks in size. Come to find out, the stupid doctor just typed in the wrong information. We had a total of 10 ultrasounds and 2 stress tests.
23- Where were you when you went into labor? Staples in Park City
24- Did your water break? Nope, they broke it for me.
25- Who drove you to the hospital? Griff. There was no way I would have been able to drive.
26- Did you go early or late? 6 days early.
27- Who was in the room with you when you gave birth? Griff, Sherry, Terri and Jenny. But Griff was the only one below my knees.
29- Did you have any drugs for the pain? Oh yeah, I thought about no meds but I am so glad I did.
30-Did you go Natural or have a c-section? Natural
31- What was your first reaction after giving birth? What an amazing experience. Then “Wow, Look at all that hair” She had tons of blonde hair.
32- How big was the baby? 6 lbs. 10 oz. and 20½ inches.
33- Did your Husband cry? When I started pushing, the nurse had him count and when the baby started to crown, he would get really choked up and wasn’t able to count. He had a few tears rolling down his cheeks but he wasn’t sobbing, just the right amount. He is so amazing.
34- What did you name the baby? Oakley Anne Lloyd
35- Did the baby have any complications? She had meconian in her lungs so the NICU team had to come in and put a tube down her throat to get it out. She also had the cord wrapped her neck. But everything was fine.
36- How old is your baby today? 10 days!!
37- When is the next one coming? Hopefully about 3 years, but we learned with Oakley that it is not our decision 
40-If you could, would you do it all over again? ABSOLUTLY!! I wouldn’t change a thing. It was not nearly as bad as everyone made it out to be. She was worth every bit of it.

She's Here

Shes Here!!!!!!
Well she is finally here! We had a doctors appt. today at 1:45. Dr. Singer told me that I was dilated to a 4.5 and if I didn't go tonight that she would take me tomorrow. She stripped my membranes and we left the office. We were very excited and we left and needed to stop at Staples. About 3 minutes into staples the contractions hit me, then another about 2 minutes later, then another. We decided that we didn't have time to go home for anything so we just headed to IMC. As we drove down the canyon they were getting pretty bad and by the time we were to the hospital they were about 1 1/2 minutes apart. The got me in right away. I got my epidural about an hour later. By that time my contractions were so bad. Then after that it was down hill. I only had to push for about an hour and she came at 7:52. She weighed 6.10 pounds and is 21 inches long. She has tons of strawberry blonde hair. She is absolutely beautiful. Here are some pictures, ENJOY!!

Maternity Pictures

Nicole Parker took these maternity pictures a couple days before I had the baby. I am so glad she did it for me. She did a great job. Check out her blog and use her if you ever need pictures done!!

The Sweet Taste of The Sugar Bowl!!

WOW What a game!! Griff and I honestly thought they would win but we never thought we would kill Alabama! When we found out Utah was headed to the Big Easy, we begged my doctor to give us the O.K. but she refused. There were some tears but we decided to make the best of it. We had a rockin' party and enjoyed every minute of it. We have been huge Ute fans for years, even through the bad seasons, but we have never been more proud to be Ute fans. GO UTES!!!

My Last Day at Jolley Kids : (

I have worked at Jolley Kids for 4 years and I am very sad to say that today was my last day. I knew last year when I found out that I was pregnant that I would only be able to work there until Christmas, but I didn't think it would come this fast. I can't begin to say how much I have loved working there. I have the greatest boss EVER and work with the best teachers. Not to mention my students. Over the last 4 years, I can honestly say that I have had some of the cutest kids in the entire town with the most amazing parents. I have learned so much from this job and I can't begin to express my appreciation for the learning experiences I have gained. One thing we always say is "Once a Jolley Kid, Always A Jolley Kid" I hope that goes for teachers!! I was told that I have a job anytime I want to go back so we will see what next year brings!!!

The Holy War!!!

Well it was all I thought it would be and more!! Yesterday was the Utah/BYU football game. The entire week, I have been telling everyone I was going to paint my stomach and wear a sports bra. No one really thought I would do it, but my stubborn side came out and I had to. I went the entire game with my shirt off, it was so cold but so worth it!! We had so much fun and not to mention we slaughtered the ZOOBIES!!

AMAZING!!

I have heard about the places in the mall where you can go get pictures taken of your unborn baby but I had no idea that the pictures were this amazing. Griff and I went to Fetal Studios in Southtown Mall and were blown away by the pictures of our sweet baby girl. It was amazing to see what she actually looks like. We also received a 20 minute video that shows her moving and rubbing her eyes that I will post this weekend. She is stubborn like her mother and shy like her father. She kept her arms over her face for a lot of the time and wouldn't move them. But these pictures are priceless!! I can't wait until I get to hold her in my arms!

Oakley's First Hunt

When I put in for the hunts, I obviously was not expecting to be 6 months pregnant when they came around. When we found out that we were going to have a baby everyone said that I wouldn't be able to hunt, but this was my first time doing the muzzle loader so I was bound and determined to prove them wrong- and I did. We had been seeing these deer in the same place and time of day everyday, so one day Griff, Ryan Heath and I were looking and spotted them. I had the perfect shot so I pulled up and pulled the trigger. The deer jumped about 2 feet in the air, so I thought for sure he was down. When we went to look for him, there wasn't a trace of blood or anything. I like to blame it on Oakley, saying that she kicked right as I pulled the trigger. I redeemed myself when we saw him on the last morning of the hunt. I had an even better shot at him so I pulled my gun up, took a deep breath and pulled the trigger. He staggered about 4 feet then dropped. It was such an adrenaline rush. I was so excited. I want to thank my amazing husband for taking me everyday, my brother-in-law for not even pulling his gun up to take the shot and my little brother for being there for support! (Sorry about your clothes Heath and Ryan lol)
